Meet Jessica: A nanny and babysitter in Ringwood East, VIC

Hi there,

My name is Jess, and I am 34 years old.

I have worked with children for the past 16 years in a range of different environments.

For the last few years I have been working as a nanny, looking after children from as young as 2 weeks up to 15 years of age.

Up until November 2015, I managed before and after school care programs; with numbers of children ranging from 5 children up to 45 children at a time with a ratio of 1 adult to 15 children. I found that I was lacking the connection with the children particularly in the larger settings as my role was more of a supervisor rather than a friend/role model to the children so I’m hoping to gain that through a nannying/babysitting role.

I have my Senior First Aid & CPR Certificate, Working with Children Check, Food Handlers Certificates, clean driver’s licence and my own reliable car. I have previously completed anaphylaxis/allergy training, as well as asthma training, and feel that I am competent in each element.

I also have experience looking after children with autism (severe and mild), angelman syndrome, global delay, Down Syndrome, epilepsy and anaphylaxis/severe allergies etc. I have experience as a Support Worker too.

I have experience looking after very young babies (as young as two days old), multiples and many young children at a time. I have also been very involved in setting up sleep routines for babies, including sleep training.

I'm a kind, caring, loving, responsible person who is honest and very trustworthy.

I've worked in Out of School Hours Care, Long Day Child Care, Occasional Care, Private Nannying, and as an Au Pair overseas in 2010.
