Meet Lauren: A nanny and babysitter in Bondi, NSW

Hi! I’m Lauren, 30, originally from the UK and living in Sydney for 2.5 years on the pathway to PR.

I have a strong professional background working with children and young people in residential care settings, with both extensive experience and formal education in this field. My focus has been on supporting young people in their day-to-day lives, encouraging independence, understanding developmental stages, and working towards positive outcomes.

I’m trained in therapeutic care models and have solid knowledge of behaviour management, along with some experience in supporting neurodiverse children—though I understand this may not be relevant to every role.

In addition to residential care, I’ve worked closely with families in more personal settings, including being an au pair for three families since living here, babysitting, and providing mothers help including household tasks such as laundry& folding, light cleaning/ tidying, errands, dog care, and meal prep.

I’m currently in Part time employment but available for 1-2 days per week or occasional ad hoc support. I’ve worked with children aged 6months to 17, hold a full driver’s licence with my own car, and can provide references. I also have a UK police background check and hold a level 4 diploma in childcare.

I’m confident in supporting families with all varieties of tasks and all age ranges of children.
