Meet Lucy: A babysitter in St Kilda, VIC

I am originally from the UK, and I have been in Australia for around 6 months. I feel very lucky to have the opportunity to work in such a beautiful country. My background is in early years, and I have been working with children since 2016 in various capacities. I am a bubbly, empathetic, caring individual, and I have a nurturing, enthusiastic approach to working with children. I like to create a positive, and calming environment for children to learn and grow within.

I have worked as a teaching assistant with a child with additional needs, this gave me a lot of experience with adaptability and emphasised the need for a flexible approach to learning. I have been an au pair for three different families, working with children aged 6 months, up to 4 years old. I have cared for multiple children at one time, including caring for twins. I believe understanding the child’s routine within the home is a crucial part of helping families with their day to day lives. As I have volunteered for a family based charity, I understand how important it can be to have people to support families, especially in the early years.

I have a wide range of skills, and I am eager to put them into practice. I have a strong work ethic, kindness, patience, and a strong passion for working with children.

I am currently working as a barista part time, and i am looking to pick up occasional nanny/babysitting work.
