My name is Bríd, and I’m from Ireland. I’ll be relocating to Australia end of September early October , which I’m incredibly excited about. I’ve been fortunate enough to travel quite a bit over the years. I love to explore new cultures and new adventures, adapts quickly, and is always eager to embrace new experiences.
I have a double honors degree in Psychology and Education from Swansea University, and I’ve always had a deep passion for working with children. Over the past few years, I’ve gained a wide range of experience in childcare and youth work. I’ve worked at summer camps across Germany and the UK, where I was responsible not only for supervising and caring for children, but also for designing and leading engaging games and activities that were both fun and educational. As well as lesson planning and night supervision. These roles taught me how to balance fun with structure and gave me a solid foundation in working with young people of various ages and backgrounds. I have also volunteered with special Olympics and taught both adults and students with Down syndrome to swim and play football. Which I found very rewarding and further taught me about patience and communication.
One of my most rewarding roles was working as a Welfare Manager at the Alpadia Language Camp in London. In this position, I was responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of all campers, managing a team of staff, coordinating daily schedules, resolving conflicts, and liaising with parents. It was a role that that thoroughly improved my communication, leadership, and organizational skills, and I found it incredibly fulfilling to create a positive, nurturing environment for both staff and students.
In addition to my camp experience, I’ve done a significant amount of babysitting, particularly with children with special needs, including those with Down syndrome, autism, and non-verbal communication styles. These experiences have taught me to be patient, empathetic, and attentive, and I always aim to create a calm, supportive, and joyful environment tailored to each child's unique needs.
When I’m not working, you’ll most likely find me outdoors. I absolutely love being active—whether it’s playing lacrosse, football, Gaelic football, swimming, or hiking. I’m always seeking out new experiences and adventures, and I thrive when I’m surrounded by nature and movement.
Another one of my passions is cooking. I love spending time in the kitchen experimenting with new recipes, trying out dishes from different cultures, and cooking nutritious meals for friends and family. I’d be delighted to share that joy in your home, whether it’s preparing meals for the kids or baking together as a fun afternoon activity.
Overall, I’m a warm, dependable, and energetic person who genuinely enjoys caring for and connecting with children. I bring a strong work ethic, a sense of fun, and a commitment to creating a safe, loving, and enriching environment.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions—I’d be more than happy to chat!
Warm regards,
Bríd
