Meet April: A nanny and babysitter in Melbourne, VIC

Hello Families,

I moved from Hawaiʻi to Melbourne in July 2025 and founded April’s Pro PlayCare in October 2025. I’m passionate about providing safe, engaging, and supportive care that helps children learn, grow, and thrive.

Qualifications & Checks:

- ABN Registered (invoices available)

- Working With Children Check (WWCC)

- National Police Check

I moved to Melbourne to begin a new chapter with my husband, who was born and raised here. We are currently based near Albert Park Lake, where I enjoy reading, walking, and continuing my 15-year yoga practice.

For the past 15 years, my work has centered around children. I began as a babysitter before becoming a swim instructor, teaching children from babies through to adults. Over the past seven years, I have specialized in supporting children with additional needs in both one-on-one and group settings, across home and community environments.

My approach focuses on creating a caring, patient, and encouraging environment where children feel supported while building confidence, independence, communication, and new skills.

Since August 2025, I have been working with a wonderful family in Malvern East caring for their two children (aged 3 years and 11 months). I am grateful for their support as I continue building my business and would be happy to provide a letter of recommendation.

I am currently looking to expand my availability and am open Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays, and occasional weekends.

Please note: I do not currently drive, but I am comfortable and reliable using public transport.
