Hi there!
My name is Safiya. I am 26, born and raised in Melbourne's north. I work in case management for a domestic violence program, assisting families to re-establish their life free from violence.
I have 3 younger and 2 older brothers. I look after my nieces aged 4 and 6, and my 10-month-old nephew, on a regular basis. I am all too familiar with the nappy changes, feeding, playing and soothing.
I have a disabled 75-year-old grandmother who I also care for once a week. This includes personal care such as pad changes, hoisting and showering.
I enjoy caring for others and am often referred to as the mother of the group by my loved ones. I can offer sincerity, trust, compassion and years of experience as an aunty. A firm believer that it takes a village to raise a child, I do not take the trust of looking after someone's child lightly.
Following the closure of the Escaping Violence Program, I have been providing casual babysitting services since 1 September. I am currently available for work until 5th December, as I will be travelling for two months.
I do not have a first aid certificate but I am willing to obtain.
Writing a statement does not do my character justice, so I encourage you to contact me and decide for yourself!
Kind Regards,
Safiya
