Hi there! I’m Desiree — a friendly and experienced Registered Nurse currently working at Westmead. I have 2 years of NICU experience and 3 years working in paediatrics, and I absolutely love supporting families and caring for children of all ages, from newborns to teens. I’m confident in adapting to different needs and situations, whether it’s caring for a sick child, supporting those with chronic or complex medical conditions, or working with children with learning or neurodevelopmental differences. I also enjoy helping with homework or tutoring for older kids, and love using play-based learning with little ones. Fully vaccinated Mrs Doubfire! I have a genuine love of children and over 20 year’s experience (including special needs) and as a nanny in Saudi Arabia . I've also spent 1.5 year`s in Chile, volunteering in a childrens' orphanage. Fun, active, kind, reliable and well organised. When I'm looking after children, I like to engage/participant with them rather than looking at my phone (I'm not on social media!). A believer in 'old school' play/education, ‘adventure’, laughter and cuddles (for toddlers).
