I have over eight years of experience working with children and young people in schools and community programs in the Philippines. I recently moved to Australia and am currently studying for a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education and Care at TAFE NSW.
I have experience babysitting both here in Sydney and in the Philippines. I also help care for my 4-month-old niece when my brother is away or at work, and I’ve spent a lot of time with my 4-year-old niece since she was born.
As part of my course at TAFE, we have hands-on experience in a childcare centre set up at our school every two weeks. This gives us the opportunity to practice our skills, apply what we’ve learned, and engage with children and their parents. I also hold a Working With Children Check (WWCC) and a police check.
In my previous roles, I mentored students, ran programs such as retreats and seminars, and worked closely with families to support children’s learning and development. I also helped students with their education plans, guided them through scholarship applications, and supported them from application through to graduation. I truly enjoy working with children and helping them grow in a safe, caring, and fun environment.
Additionally, I have experience in administration and finance, including budgeting and organising events. I believe these skills help me stay organised and work effectively with both children and families.
